xtine burrough is a media artist and educator based in Dallas, Texas. Her work spans solo and group exhibitions in galleries and institutions, exploring the intersection of design, intervention, and digital poetry. Through remix practices—appropriation, juxtaposition, and computation—burrough creates screensavers, videos, internet art, apps, Instagram series, social media interventions, and fine art prints on paper, fabric, and copper.

Her creative practice is documented through reflective writing and publications aimed at students and the evolving field of digital art. Her work is held in libraries, archives, and the Getty Research Institute.

xtine is a professor at the University of Texas at Dallas, where she directs LabSynthE, a laboratory for synthetic and electronic poetry. She holds an MFA from Vermont College of Fine Arts.

Recent publications include Art as Social Practice: Technologies for Change and the second edition of The Routledge Companion to Remix Studies. She is currently writing Critical Web Design, forthcoming from MIT Press in 2026.
